The ATJLF’s current theory of change (see below), assumes that IF communities and citizens’ agency are activated and relevant institutions strengthened, and IF public narratives are transformed to encourage activism, and IF remedies for serious human rights violations are locally defined and transformative, THEN perpetrators of mass crimes will be held genuinely accountable, locally relevant justice mechanisms will become effective and sustainable and THEN there will be peace, inclusive growth and development.

The theory of change will serve as a guide for the ATJLF’s grant-making interventions in the current countries of focus until further notice.
