Meet the ATJLF Team.

DIRECTOR: MAKMID KAMARA

Makmid is a human rights leader, researcher and development communications practitioner, with almost twenty (20) years’ experience working with national and international development and human rights organisations in Africa and the United Kingdom. His experience is mainly in West Africa, some parts of Europe and the United Kingdom, and selected countries in Southeast Asia. He lives and works in Accra, Ghana.

Prior to joining the ATJLF, Makmid worked at the International Secretariat of Amnesty International in London as Deputy Director of Global Issues and (Ag.) Head of the Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ESCR) Team; interim Country Director for Amnesty International Nigeria and West Africa Researcher. He has also worked with international organisations such as Oxfam GB and Concern Worldwide.

He holds an MSc with distinction in development communications from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and BA (Hons) with distinction in mass communications from Fourah Bay College (University of Sierra Leone). He started his career as a broadcast journalist in Sierra Leone and proceeded to work with various national and international non-governmental organisations in development and human rights.

GRANTS AND PROGRAMMES OFFICER: ANAEL KINGUE

Anael is an international development professional with experience in project design, monitoring and evaluation, transitional justice, and conflict analysis and resolution. Prior to joining the ATJLF, Anael worked at the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) in Dakar, Senegal as Programme Coordinator for the Equality, Justice and Human Rights program, and Program Assistant in the Executive Director’s Office. She has also interned and worked for other organizations including Search for Common Ground, The International Rescue Committee, Education Development Center and the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars.
Anael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Studies from Towson University in Maryland, USA and a Master’s degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution with a concentration in conflict prevention and peace-building in Africa from American University in Washington, DC.

 

 

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT: OPHILIA FORDJOUR

Ms. Ophilia Fordjour is the Administrative Assistant for the Africa Transitional Justice Legacy Fund(ATJLF). She holds a Bsc. in Accounting Administration from Central University College and has three 3years’ working experience in administration.
