ATJLF Convenes Continental Transitional Justice Roundtable in Accra to Strengthen Collaboration and Advance the AUTJP

The Africa Transitional Justice Legacy Fund (ATJLF), in collaboration with consortium partners the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) and the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR), under the EU/AU Initiative for Transitional Justice in Africa (ITJA), convened the Community of Practice on Transitional Justice Roundtable in Accra, Ghana, from 16–17 March 2026.

The roundtable brought together ITJA sub-grantee partners, civil society actors, practitioners, regional institutions, and victim-centred organisations from across the African continent to exchange experiences, reflect on transitional justice practice, strengthen peer learning and collaboration, advance the implementation of the African Union Transitional Justice Policy (AUTJP), and explore sustainable pathways for continued engagement beyond the ITJA project lifecycle.

The event convened approximately 45 experts, practitioners, and partners from nearly 20 African countries, including representatives from the African Union and the European Union, as well as ATJLF’s valued funders and supporters. Participants engaged in rich and insightful discussions on justice, accountability, reconciliation, victim-centred approaches, and sustainable peacebuilding across Africa.
